Brisam Valencia LLC To Develop Valencia Hotel

Brisam Valencia LLC has acquired for $6 milloin dollars the property in which The Greens, located in Valencia currently sits on. This purchase by Brisam Valencia, headquartered in New York city, is being intended to build a 200 room hotel that will feature an upscale restaurant, and hopefully one or more conference rooms. The size of the hotel is mentioned to potentially be anywhere from 20,000 to 25,000 sq ft, a stark contrast from the existing Greens structure of only 2,400 sq ft.

The  hotel, which the city of Santa Clarita sounds eager to bring in, is likely to be purchased by either Hilton, Mariot, or Sheraton hotel companies. In my opinion it will be a great addition to McBean Pkwy, adding to the choice of finer hotels for our growing population in Santa Clarita and our "visiting" relatives & friends.

The city of Santa Clarita, not surprisingly, has the highest occupancy rate for area hotels as compared to the rest of Santa Clarita. As of September 2006, area hotels had an occupancy rate of approx 85.5 percent, its even higher when compared to a several month range. The rest of Los Angeles county in the meantime has seen a decrease in hotel occupancies, noted at 77.2% occupnacy.

Anyone see a trend? Santa Clarita as evidenced by its schools, clean streets, low crime statistics, diverse job economy, and extremely low unemployment is a preferred destination for not only Los Angeles County home buyers, but now even tourists, and travelers. While it may get more crowded in the coming years, its only going to get better as far as local amenities, choices, and options. Finally an area, where our citizens don't have to travel over the hazy hill to Los Angeles for our entertainment, shopping, and "visitor" hotel needs.
