River Village - River Village is one of the final villages in the Valencia Master Plan. It is located east of Bouquet Canyon Road and north of the Santa Clara River in the City of Santa Clarita. SunCal Homes - Propose to develop 45 new single family home sites north of Copperhill (North Valencia area) and adjacent to the Tesoro del Valle community. This project is currently in the approval process with the LA County planning commission.

The proposed development will feature large lots. Access to the community will be possible via two NEW proposed roads that will connect with roads developed and planned within the Tesoro del Valle community which is located just SouthWest of the proposed project site.

A re-alignment of San Francisquito Canyon Rd is also proposed to accommodate the site. This realignment is proposed between Low Ridge Place and Cherokee Canyon Ln. No access to the project is proposed via San Francisquito Canyon Rd.

This project is also going to provide for a new  regional equestrian trail in edition to perpetuating all of the local equestrian trails within the project boundary. The project has been designed with open space in mind and a specific sensitivityto the natural, biotic, cultural, and scenic resources.

**UPDATE  -  DRP has sent SunCal back to the drawing board with a recent March 2007 decision to have the company revise their plan to develop 45 homes. Residents in the area contended that the lot sizes would not be large enough to accommodate horses since it is an equestrian community. The county agreed with them, and so SunCal will either have to come back with fewer homes with larger lots, or sell to another developer that may have a better idea for the property that works.
