  
Only "minutes" from Santa Clarita, Castaic is at the most north west end of our Valley, and lies in an unincorporated portion of Los Angeles County. With most of the development of tract homes starting in the 1980s, and continuing to this day, Castaic has become one of the most attractive places to live in the greater Santa Clarita Valley due in part to its abundant recreation opportunities, newer neighborhoods, and some affordable homes options compared to other portions of Santa Clarita Valley. You can find detached single family homes for as little as the mid/upper $400,000 range. Single family homes however also go over $1 million in some Castaic communities.
With Castaic Lake as a focal point of the community, Castaic is no longer just a "truck stop" along the interstate 5 freeway. It is home to really nice new homes, newer schools, new shopping centers, and new industrial buildings that have brought in hundreds of new jobs.
Castaic is only about 5 minutes north of major Santa Clarita streets such as Magic Mountain Parkway, making it a close alternative for housing. Castaic is served primarily by major roads such as The Old Road, Hasley Canyon, and Parker.
